This letter was written by the International Committee to the people of Nanjing. It is asking that they come to the safety zone in the western quarter of the city.
This is a picture is found in the Nanjing Massacre Memorial. It is a picture of a Japanese newspaper. The newspaper is showing the pictures of two Japanese soldiers, Toshiaki Mukai and Tsuyoshi Noda, who competed in a killing competition. The competition was: whoever was the first to behead 100 people wins. In the newspaper the two soldiers were shown as war hero's. Both the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun newspaper and the Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun newspaper covered the story.
