Invasion of Shanghai – Japanese army invaded Shanghai and was met with strong resistance form the Chinese Army. This meant that the Japanese army suffered from many causalities.
1st December 1937
Nanjing Mayor Ma Chao-chun ordered people of Nanjing to move to safety zone. This was in the western quarter of the city.
9th of December 1937
Battle of Nanjing - The Japanese army demanded that the Chinese army surrender in 24 hours. The Chinese army didn't surrender and because of this the battle of Nanjing started.
13th December 1937
Japanese capture Nanjing. This marks the start of the Nanjing Massacre.
